Describes planting and harvesting rye, clover, vegetables and orchard fruits; butchering hogs; sawing lumber, building fences, carpentry; attending church services at Blockley Baptist Church, M. E. Church, and Dr. Jones Church; attending funerals, fairs, parades, and meetings of the Protection Lodge and Aucturas Lodge; and attending the Centennial Exhibition in Philadelphia in 1876. Mentions work and visits with a number of prominent Upper Darby families. Most daily entries are one line in length, many include some comments on the weather.
